Part of me thinks that it might have been a little cruel to do this to a little kitten. But if they did it patiently and humanely, it is actually kinda cute!
Tomorrow is the last day of July and I don’t know where the time has gone! It’s been a nice cool summer so far and business is down a little but it sure could be worse, ya know, with everything in the mess it’s in. I’m just counting my blessings that business hasn’t been down anymore than it has been.
Oh, about my garden, well everything started coming up and the darn critters found it. You guessed it, the pickings are slim in our garden this year. We don’t usually have much trouble with the critters because we put out all kinds of stuff that’s supposed the keep them away from the garden. I bet that boy that was supposed to do that forgot it. I’ll have to ask him and see. I wonder if he’ll be honest? He better be!
Little Joe and his mother have really been so much help and joy to me. Little Joe likes to feed the chickens and the other animals that he can. He’s even been helping clean the barn out a bit. Little fella works really hard but gets very little done because he spends more time talking to the animals. It’s sheer pleasure to have him out there with me.
Oh he has named each and every new baby we have here. The twin goats are Billy and Betty. I have no idea where those names came from but that’s what he named them. Oh the pygmy donkey was expecting and now has the cutest baby you have ever seen. Little Joe named her Angel because his mother told him that a donkey carried Mary when she was expecting Baby Jesus. He said that donkey was an angel and that’s where the name for our baby came from. It’s that precious!!!
If I had a parrot like this in my critters, I’m sure that he would bring in a lot of people if even for just the day to see him. He would be a perfect addition to my little petting zoo. Speaking of my petting zoo, we’re having babies left and right. I guess it’s that time of year ya know. The petting zoo has been closed over the winter because who wants to pet a muddy animal in the cold? We will be opening it back up once the temperature starts going up but until then, people can see the animals from outside the fence. Besides, some of the new mothers don’t want you too close to their new babies. Anyway, check out this parrot!! He is amazing.
We have decided that the apartment for Celeste has to be completed by Valentines day. Or at least completed enough that she can move in as my Valentines Day gift to her and Little Joe. Well if things keep going like they are right now, that is very possible. The furniture I have ordered online for them is scheduled to be here on the 12th. I just hope it’s not late.
An artist friend of mine is coming in on the 10 to start the special painting of Little Joe’s room. She’s going to paint a mural all the way round the room of a forest with all of the animals he loves so much. He spends as much time as he can with my animals so I thought we would surprise him with the animals in his room. She does wonderful work and I know Little Joe will love it.
I’m really surprised that Celeste has not mentioned the apartment at all. I guess she is so used to not being able to ask questions at home that she feels it’s better to just leave it alone. That actually helps me to make the surprise even better I think.
